One thing all of us need to get out of our mind is the idea of the "60-minute workout". Forget about spending that much time at the gym. Instead, select better and more efficient exercises. This will allow you to get your workouts done much faster, thereby eliminating the "no time" excuse.
To do this, you need to get rid of irrelevant exercises. I know you're thinking you need to do an exercise for shoulders, and one for arms, and one for abs, and one for this or that. However, before you do, ask yourself whether these will really get you to your goal, or have you been convinced by bodybuilding magazines that you have to do 40 sets per workout to achieve results?
We can create some pretty efficient and incredible bodyweight workouts instead of the classic bodybuilding-type workout. Best of all, these bodyweight workouts can be done in a much shorter amount of time!
Hence, here's a 7 minute workout (bodyweight) circuit that will help you lose weight, burn calories and jack-up your metabolism. You don't need any machines or weights. You can do this workout anywhere!
|7 Minute Bodyweight Circuit|
|Bodyweight squat (10-20 reps)|
|Pushup (10-20 reps)|
|Reverse Lunge (10 reps per leg)|
|Plank (30 second hold)|
|Close-grip Pushup (10-20 reps)|
|Side Plank (20 second hold per side)|
|Mountain Climber (10 reps per side)|
Do this 7 minute workout without resting between exercises. Rest 1 minute at the end of the circuit and repeat again up to 3 times.
If you're a beginner, do fewer repetitions and rest longer.
This is a tough bodyweight circuit, especially the combination of two exercises toward the end of the circuit.
So there you go, now you have another weapon in your fat loss arsenal.
