LOSING BABY FAT
Best Methods For Losing Baby Fat
The fatty tissue in children is called baby fat. They are supposed to "outgrow" this as they mature.
However, not everyone loses and outgrows their baby fat. Furthermore, many people mistake normal fat (the kind accumulated over time due to a lack of exercise and poor diet) for baby fat.
Therefore, if you want to lose baby fat, your first step should be to figure out what type of fat you have. If you're in your 20's and think you have baby fat, you’re mistaken because the vast majority of people lose baby fat during puberty. In more extreme cases it may persist until the late teens.
Losing Baby Fat - Essential Tips
- Cut down on your calorie intake.
Your body requires a number of calories everyday to function properly.
It takes these calories from the food that you eat .
When you eat more calories than your body needs you put on weight.
The first thing you need to do is to calculate the total number of calories your body needs each day to sustain itself (go to our calorie calculator). Once you do this, you will need to cut down on your total calorie intake.
However, don't starve yourself in an attempt to lose baby fat. This won’t work and it will wreak havoc on your body internally. To lose baby fat in a sensible way, you should consume 15% to 20% fewer calories than your body actually needs to sustain itself.
For losing baby fat, proper exercise is very important. One of the main reasons people get fat is because they don't get enough exercise.
The best kind of exercise for losing baby fat (and accumulated fat) is weight training. This type of exercise will transform your body into a fat burning furnace. Weight training helps you maintain and increase muscle tissue. The more muscle a person has on their body, the more they will burn fat because muscle is a metabolically active tissue.
Another effective method for losing baby fat is high intensity cardio. While a leisurely 1-hour walk is good for your health, it won’t help you to burn fat because the intensity is not high enough.
- Enough sleep.
When you're young you tend to have way too many things to do. The first thing that takes a back seat is sleep. This shouldn't be the case. Make sure you get at least 8 hours of sleep every night. Sleep time is the time when your body recovers and rebuilds. Without sufficient rest your body cannot do this!
