Pina Colada Smoothie Recipe

A Pina Colada smoothie recipe is considered a must-know-how-to-make smoothie. In addition to it's cocktail version, the Pina Colada smoothie version is equally popular. Go to any vacation resort and it will most likely be at the top of the list on any smoothie beverage menu.

Most Pina Colada smoothies are essentially similar. The core ingredients are obviously the Rum and coconut cream or extract but you can "tweak" your Pina Colada smoothie recipe by adding other elements such as sweeteners (liquid Stevia); consistency enhancing ingredients such as a raw egg; whey protein for those of you that would like to use it as a meal replacement or for a post-workout meal.

This is a great tasting smoothie recipe and you won't meat many people that will say they don't like pina colada smothies.

Here we will give you a few recipes that we like and have proven to be popular.

Pina Colada Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Rum
  • 5 oz Pinapple juice
  • 1 tablespoon of coconut cream
  • 1 table spoon brown sugar
  • 6 to 8 medium-sized ice-cubes

Blending Instructions:

Put the Rum and Pinapple in the blender first and everyting else next. Blend on lower speed setting for about 15 seconds then at a higher speed for another 15 seconds. This allows for maximum "intergration" of all ingredients.

Also, don't forget that you will need a decent mid-quality level blender with at least 4 speeds on it. We suggest having glass blenders becasue after a while blenders with plastic bowls will tend to smell bad and there is nothing you can do to get the smell out.

Pinapple-Orange Juice Pina Colada

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of pinapple-orange juice<1/2 tablespoon of rum extract
  • 1/2 tablespoon of coconut extract (or 2 tablespoons of shredded coconut)
  • few drops (at least 3 or 4) of liquid Stevia
  • 4 ounces (150 ml) of water
  • 5 to 6 medium-sized ice cubes

Blending Instructions:

Put the Rum and Pinapple in the blender first and everyting else next. Blend on lower speed setting for about 15 seconds then at a higher speed for another 15 seconds. This allows for maximum "intergration" of all ingredients.

If you are not satiffied with the consistency (thickness) then add more ice-cubes or even a raw egg. This will give it that rich and thick taste we all like.
