What Does Testosterone Do?
Before we take a look at what does testosterone do, we need to identify what is testosterone?
Testosterone is a steroid hormone which is primarily secreted in the testes of males and the ovaries of females, although small amounts are also secreted by the adrenal glands.
It is the principal male sex hormone and an anabolic steroid.
On average, an adult human male body produces about forty to sixty times more testosterone than an adult human female body.

In terms of fitness, it's easy to understand why females have to work much harder at the gym to achieve results because without sufficient testosterone levels it is difficult to tone, increase muscle mass or decrease fat.
