Exercise to Lose Belly Fat - The Ultimate Strategy To Lose Belly FatBy John AlvinoAuthor of How To Get Ripped Abs
Are you among those people who struggle to lose belly fat? I bet that you think you have bad genetics, right? Maybe you also think how you you’ve tried every possible program to try to burn your stubborn belly fat, but it just never seems to work!
I'm sure you have seen tons of advertisements making "too-good to-be-true miracle claims and promising you that you'll lose belly fat EASILY with their "magic" cream, pill or overhyped abdominal gadget.
I want to make sure said deceitful marketers have insulted your intelligence for the very last time. So, let's get past all the fancy gimmicks and get down to what really works. I want to help you win your battle with fat. Trust me, it’s easier than you may imagine.
First off, it's very important to realize that both proper nutrition and targeted training must work in synergy if you want to lose belly fat at an accelerated pace. Therfore, let’s discuss both of these aspects to ensure that you get on the right track.
Exercise To Lose Belly Fat - Nutrition Aspect
The first critical principle to help you burn and get rid of your belly fat revolves around your nutrition plan. It’s important to realize that typical "fad" dieting actually PREVENTS your body from losing unwanted belly fat. You see, if you follow any diet that forces you to consistently restrict one of the macronutrients (protein, carbs and fat), something very unfortunate occurs within the body: you lose weight, but the majority of that weight come from your lean muscle mass, NOT from your body fat!
Losing lean muscle is the last thing you would want to do. It makes you look unhealthy, and even worse, it lowers your metabolism, which in effect immediately stops your fat loss plan dead in its tracks! Once your metabolism starts to drop, you will find it next to impossible to lose any body fat at all. Therefore, the wrong diet can have drastic effects on your body and on your "exercise to lose belly fat" routine.
Our bodies are meant to eat a diet full and rich with a diverse array of foods from healthy, natural sources of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. This nutrition plan provides your body with all of the essential nutrients it needs to function optimally as a healthy and efficient fat-burning machine!
Exercise To Lose Belly Fat - Proper Workouts
Now let’s talk about the second and equally important part of the equation: how to properly structure your workouts. In order to burn your belly fat, you need to stop wasting your time performing traditional abs exercises to lose belly fat such as crunches, side bends and leg lifts. These will not burn your belly fat or love handles either.
Truth be told, you won't lose belly fat by doing exercises that target the stomach area. Unfortunately, most trainees don’t know about this and they are never told either. Thus, they spend too much of their training trying to specifically target their stomach with countless repetitions of various ab exercises.
Don't get me wrong though - performing the correct number of abdominal exercises is important, and when they are done properly, they can certainly carve-out the abdominal musculature nicely, strengthen your midsection and help you maintain a healthy and strong back. But, the pure fact of the matter is that direct ab exercises should only be a small portion of your workouts. The majority of your time should be spent on focusing on multi-joint exercises that work the major muscle groups of the body like the legs, chest and back, while at the same time working the abdominals secondarily as a stabilizer.
When you focus your attention to the major muscle groups, you stimulate your metabolic rate both during and after your workouts. In addition, you'll also increase the level of fat-burning hormones inside your body. All in all, you simply can’t get this type of metabolic and hormonal response by doing endless sets of crunches.
Therefore, if you really want to lose belly fat fast, do some barbell squats, dumbbell lunges, step-ups, rows, pulls and a variety of presses and dead lifting movements.
Also remember to perform each workout at a high intensity level. This means no 5-minute rest periods between sets to chat with your friends or try to make new ones at the water fountain! Always keep in mind that exercise to lose belly fat for good requires some intensity, so you need to be completely focused on "business" when you are training!
Last but not least, anybody that tells you that you can lose belly fat quickly by taking some pill or by sitting on your recliner while watching TV is lying to your face!
I could go on and on forever about more strategies and types of exercise to lose belly fat fast, the natural way, but that would be beyond the scope of this article. What you can do from today is start to put these basic principles into practice and you will start to lose belly fat faster than you thought you ever could!
